GIVE the GIFT of HEARING!

2016 Hearing Aid Contest Winner

MOSLEY TEACHER AWARDED HEARING AIDS

Bay County, FL – The Hearing Institute is proud to announce the winner of their Hearing Aid Contest.  Mr. Gregory Newberry, a drawing and painting instructor at Mosley High School was chosen based on an essay written by his son, Trevor.  The essay outlined the various ways lack of hearing had affected his father, but the final paragraph held the most impact:  “I wanted to give him something he has loved his entire life: his hearing, and his ability to experience life beyond vision, and to hear every note of the music he loves.”

Gregory Newberry used to be a musician in a rock band and feels as if that was the root of his hearing loss.  “Being able to hear means everything to me, but hearing aids have been cost prohibitive for me. I’ve had years of problems, especially when trying to hear soft-spoken students.  And now, I have a new grandson I want to interact with, so quite frankly, I feel as if I’ve just won a Maserati!”

Mr. Newberry was fit with the newest, top-of-the-line technology (ReSound LiNX2) and will have the ability to stream music and phone calls, as well as make volume and sound quality adjustments, all from his smartphone.  The ReSound LiNX2 is the most awarded hearing device in hearing aid history.  This device has been rated #1 in sound quality and reliability.
